Boys and Technology Education: Equality Betrayal and Empowerment

Media

I will introduce you to a new concept today. The concept is, ‘Equality Betrayer’, which can be called ‘সমতা বিশ্ভাতক’ in Bengali! I have been creating various models with this concept for 20 years, but I have never published it. I was waiting for the right time and the right platform. Thank you to Prothom Alo for giving me the opportunity to write.

The time was 1997, and by then, except for business administration, almost all our studies were science and technology-based. At that time, like in big universities, getting a chance in the admission test at Khulna University and getting the moon in your hand was a one-time thing. After I got admitted to Environmental Science, I found out that the ratio of boys to girls in the entire university was 600:30. But what a funny thing, our department had the highest number of girls admitted, with a ratio of 24:6 to boys! Since the difference in numbers was so great, girls became fig flowers for boys. Before the first semester of the first year was over, everyone fell in love, except for one or two. I could hear from everyone around me that it was difficult to pass four years in this university without a boy friend.
