WCEI works internationally based in Canada, WCEI is currently operating its programs in some developing countries in Asia Pacific region. It intends to grow its network in developing countries in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Bangladesh
Bangladesh is known for its high population density and emerging economy. Developing human
resources, particularly women who constitute almost half of 170 million people, is a big
challenge for the country. Poor educational systems, institutional supports, and cultural traditions
are major barriers to women empowerment in Bangladesh. While women’s enrollment in
education and the workforce has increased significantly over the past few decades, there is still a
lack of women’s engagement in leadership roles. WCEI is running all of its programs in
Bangladesh in partnership with local organizations.
Canada
Based in Canada, WCEI will be the ground station to network with international research experts
and donors to explore sustainable solutions to end poverty and cultural injustice. We focus on
collaborating with the Canadian government and civic society to seek solutions for women
empowerment.
